The Royal Latin School is a place that lives long in the memory of those who’ve studied and worked here. As we proudly celebrated our 600th anniversary in 2023, we were reminded just how deeply the school is valued by generations of students, staff, families, and supporters. The role of our Development Office is to nurture and grow that enduring sense of community.

Development at the Royal Latin brings together three vital strands: alumni engagement, fundraising and community connection. Together, they help ensure that we can continue to provide an exceptional education and environment for current and future students. 

Alumni

We are proud to work closely with our former students – ‘Old Latins’ – who contribute in so many meaningful ways: by sharing their time, expertise and stories, by mentoring current students, and by staying connected with the school and each other through reunions and networks. Fundraising 

600 Campaign

Through our long-term 600 Campaign, we have already completed two transformative projects – Phase One: the Discovery Centre – a spectacular 12-laboratory science and technology building (opened in 2015) and Phase Two: the ek robotics Sports Campus (opened in 2021), which includes cutting-edge facilities such as the VIVA fitness suite, Racelogic Sports Lab and floodlit 3G pitch. These have been made possible by the generosity and involvement of our wider school community. 

Phase Three: the Arts 

We are committed to improving the teaching and learning environment at RLS where the focus will be on reimagining our art, drama and music facilities and opportunities for creative development. We will be posting an update in the autumn term.

Annual Fund

The annual fund  continues to provide vital support for enhancements that enrich school life – from improving facilities to creating new opportunities that make the Royal Latin a truly inspiring place to learn and grow.

Community 

Our commitment to the local community is reflected in our 600th anniversary Charter, and initiatives like the Extraordinary People Awards, which celebrate individuals who embody our LATIN values through acts of kindness, leadership and service.
